Europeana v1.0 is the project working to transform Europeana.eu - a portal with millions of searchable items from Europe's cultural history - from a prototype into a fully operational site.

Register & Login


Who can register for an account with Europeana v1.0?

People who work for Europeana v1.0 or one of the partner projects helping to contribute to Europeana can register for an account.

How do I create an account?

Click on "Login" and then choose "Create Account", which is located just below the sign-in button. Fill in all fields, and then click save to submit your account creation request. You will then be given a password to log into the site immediately, as well as receiving a copy of the password to your email address.

What can I do once I create an account?

You can access the Collaborative Workspace. This area is a place where you can do things like:

• collaborate on documents with colleagues
• view and plan events
• contribute to wikis
• participate in forum discussions
• see what is being developed in Europeana Labs

I have created an account on the website, but my password wasn't sent to me.

Check the spam folders of your email application. Most email applications, as well as online services such as Gmail or Hotmail should not give you any problems. If you are working from a company location, however, corporate email filters may cause the password not to arrive.

I have forgotten my password. How can I retrieve it?

Click on the "Forgot Password" link, which is located just below the sign-in button. Fill in your email address and a new password will be sent there.

What types of documents are available on the site?

Europeana v1.0 publishes documents related to business and technical developments at Europeana as well as presentations from events that Europeana has hosted or attended. These can be found in the Documents section.

Can I use the Europeana logo on my website?

Partner projects may use the Europeana logo on their own sites, to show their connection to the Europeana project. Members of the media and bloggers may also use the Europeana logo to accompany related stories. The Europeana logo is produced with the 'think culture' tagline in several different languages.

Calendar


What are the different views within the calendar?

Events on the calendar can be viewed by day, week, month or year. Clicking on 'Summary' shows you the current day and events on that day. Clicking on the 'Events' button will show you all calendar items.

What kind of events can I see there?

The calendar serves as an event platform for all sister projects of Europeana v1.0 and lists key conferences and workshops in their focus area (audio-visual materials, museums, libraries, archives, musical instrument, Jewish collections) or events related to project-linking themes such as technical aspects of the digitalisation of cultural heritage collections, aggregation and public domain issues.

How can I submit an event?
